Lancaster Speedway July 16th Race Postponed.

At 10:30 this morning, Lancaster Speedway management consulted with all parties involved in the running of the Buddy Crook Memorial and have made the decision to postpone the race tonight. Doug McManus, members of the track prep crew and others were on site assessing the situation and found the conditions of the racing surface far too wet to prepare. The forecast continues to show significant chances of rain throughout the day and into the night and after heavy rains overnight, the track conditions would be very difficult to overcome at this point. We have also talked to Mr. Bryan Crook and will make arrangements to make up this race in the coming weeks. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all next week.

Lancaster Speedway Racing July 2nd.

Lancaster Speedway hosts "FUEL Up" for Independence Day
"Firecracker 100 Shootout" Saturday July 2nd. With Independence Day and the appreciation of freedom on the minds of many drivers and fans alike, the FUEL Racing Series is set to kick off holiday celebrations with racing at Lancaster Speedway Saturday July 2nd. In six events this season, Five different winners have graced FUEL's Victory Lane. It is the first trip in series
history for the CT525/Limited Late Model Tour to race at the biggest and fastest 1/2 mile dirt track in the South at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, SC). This presents a unique and challenging race experience for the FUEL series drivers. In addition to the FUEL series track competition, the program will also include four exciting support divisions (Super Stock, SECA Crate Sportsman, Renegade, and Extreme 4) plus a giant fireworks show to celebrate the patriotic holiday weekend.

Jonathan Edwards sits atop the FUEL championship standings heading into this weekend. Edwards, fresh off a runner-up finish at Modoc, has been extremely consistent to this point, but is still looking for that elusive series victory.

The recent momentum belongs to series newcomer and rookie Matt Long. After a disappointing start at Cherokee in the Season opener, the Concord, N.C. racer has two wins to his credit in the past four events, the second of which came this past weekend at Modoc Raceway. Robbie Emory, Donald Bradshear, Steve Banal, and Dan Breuer have been on the doorstep as well which has created the most competitive lineup in series history.

The merger of the CT525 and Steel Block Late Model engines has diversified the growing series and opened the door to increased competition to the delight of race fans across the Southeast. Several other drivers, including regional standouts Ross Bailes (FUEL season opener winner at Cherokee) and Jeff Smith may join the growing list of entries.

SECA Late Model Teams Gear Up For Battle At Lancaster

Often referred to by many as "The Super Speedway", Lancaster Speedway plays host to the 4th Heintz Performance SECA Bonus Race presented by JRi Shocks this Saturday April 23rd. So far this season, no driver has been able to pull off multiple Bonus Race victories. Steve Banal, Ross Bailes, and Trent Ivey have all found their way to victory lane in the first three events. Tackling the long straightaways and tight corners of ...the big 1/2 mile will be a challenging task for all drivers competing this weekend. This will mark the 2nd SECA Bonus Race at Lancaster, the first which came just one year ago in when Union, SC driver and defending SECA Late Model Champion Trent Ivey scored the only Lancaster win of his young career. "Those crafty veterans at Lancaster love the speed, they love the prestige, and they love winning at their home track. Drivers like Timbo Mangum, Brandy Baker, and those Knight boys all cut their teeth racing there. I am sure they could do it with their eyes closed. Hank Taylor also has multiple feature wins and there are no easy victories at Lancaster. You have earned it if you can conquer their home turf and end up in victory lane."
Stated SECA official Timmy Mcabee, "In the midst of it’s 62nd year of racing, the Doug McManus owned facility is always ready to go on any given Saturday night. The loyal fans of Lancaster are sure to turn out, as the 2016 season has gotten off to a very promising start. This is the only place that I can ever recall seeing an elevator used to carry coolers to the top of platforms where the fans watch the races from the infield. There is also "The Jungle" where the fans that sit in that section will quickly let you know who they are pulling for. It’s part of the passion.
