Lancaster Speedway Preview For Saturday Night May 6th Race

The Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models return to Lancaster Super Speedway this Saturday Night May 6th, On April 1st the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models made their debut at LSS. On that night Ben Watkins would be put a show and dominate the race, Watkins will not be here on Saturday Night as he will be going race with the World Of Outlaws Super Late Model Series. So this Saturday we will have a new winner in the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models Series, on April 1st Brian 'Meathead' Carswell would finish 2nd place followed by Adam Yarbrough, Kevin Godwin, Justin Fite, Walter Neal, Timbo Mangum, Travis Steele, Mike Huey, Sean Nelson, Shaun Medlin, Matthew Huey and Todd Eury. You can expect to see most of these drivers back this Saturday along with more in trying to capture their first Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model win of the 2017 Racing Season. The Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models consist of Super Late Models, 525s, Limited Late Models and Crate Late Models, Jason Smoot the owner of the Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models has a rules package where all the Late Models are even against each other.

There will be a $250 new winner bonus in the Renegade Division, but it will be a tough bonus to claim with the way Andrew Baker has been dominating this division on the 2017 racing season. They say To Be The Man You Gotta Beat The Man and in the past 3 races Baker has been the man, James Marion has been the only driver to beat Baker on the 2017 racing season at Lancaster Super Speedway. Marion will be up front this Saturday trying to capture win #2 on the 2017 racing season, but Baker and Marion will have stiff competition from Kody Roach, Kyle Norwood, Burn'em Down Steve Hinson, Pebo Johnson, Jason Knight, Richard Montgomery, Chase Miller, Ryan Whitaker, James Cook, Jimmy McManus, Matthew Thrower, Tanner Norris, Joe Johnson, Jonathan Starkey, Landon Carson, Jeremy Carter, and with another area track off on Saturday Night you might expect to see some new drivers here vying for the $250 new winner bonus.

In the S.E.C.A. Crate Sportsman division, there will be another new winner bonus. $150 new winner bonus has been put up to any driver that can capture their first win on the 2017 racing season at LSS. So far on the 2017 Racing Season, it has been Wild Bill Knight leading the way with 2 wins followed by Drew Howington, Jacob 'Smooth' Catoe and Josh Wilkerson with 1 win a piece. The S.E.C.A. Crate Sportsman division is always one of the best races every single Saturday Night at LSS, drivers that will be trying to capture their first win on the 2017 racing season and the $150 new winner bonus will be Timbo Mangum, Brady Kirk, Steven Saucier, Eric Caskey, Pebo Johnson, Matt Hope, Nathan Neal, Jamie Thomasson, Jackson Thomasson and with the other area track not running on Saturday Night you might expect to see a few more new drivers here going after the $150 new winner bonus.

In the Super Stock Division, it has been a two car show on the 2017 racing season between The Gambler Brandy Baker and Ronnie 'Hammer' Mosley. Baker has dominated so far but when Mosley shows up to LSS, he seems to have Baker's number and is 2 for 2 on the year. Baker and Mosley every time they have raced together at LSS this year have been on an absolute show that gets the crowd standing on their feet. Baker will be going for win #4 on Saturday Night and Mosley will be going for win #3, drivers that will be seeking to capture their first win on the 2017 racing season will be Jason Gulledge, Andrew Winderl, Kyle Norwood, Matthew Cauthen, Jimmy Helms, Tommy MeGill, Artie Brownell, Brook Beckham, Charles Kluttz, Johnny Starkey, Joey Engelbrecht, Eric Caskey, Brent Hodges and more.

In the Vintage division, there have been two different winners and both have 2 wins a piece, they are Marty Spittle and Andy Stegall. Spittle and Stegall have put on a show when racing for the lead against each other this year, both drivers have made each other earn their respected wins, but Joe Howie has been right in the mix with them for some of the races. Spittle and Stegall will be going for win #3 on the year, Howie along with Mark Bennett, Kenneth Deese, Phillip Hayes, Chris Fincher, Jack Walters and Ron Geehring will be going for win #1 on the 2017 Racing Season.

In the newly popular and growing in car count Pure Stock V8 Division the man to beat on the year has been 'The Show Stealer' Dwayne Ray leading the way with 2 wins, Ray wins has come in some classic battles with Wally Cook. Cook the veteran of LSS and Ray the young gun have battled to some of the best races on the young 2017 racing season, Chris Fincher picked up a win a couple of weeks back in dominating fashion and Adam Bowers put his 3B machine in victory lane in the last Pure Stock V8 race at LSS. Ray will be seeking to make it 3 wins, Fincher and Bowers will be going for 2 wins but they will have some strong competition from the likes of Wally Cook, Jerry Knight, Cam Stegall, Eric Cochran, Joseph Cook, Dean Davis, James Bennett, and James Thompson all will be vying for their first win on the 2017 racing season.

In the always exciting Extreme 4 Division, Brad McManus and Mike Baucom led the way with 2 wins a piece on the year. The School Teacher Rusty Catoe captured his first career win, in one of the best Extreme 4 races in the history of Lancaster a couple of Saturday's ago. Baucom and McManus would battle for the lead last Saturday for the whole race with Baucom coming out on top, Baucom and McManus will be going for win #3 on the year, Catoe will be going for win #2. Drivers that will be going for win #1 on the young 2017 Racing Season will be Chris Baker, David Laney, Kevin Woolford, Zachary Hayes, Scott Carpenter, Chris Bowers, Ben Hinson, Cody Langley, Mike Slone, Joyce Britt, Keith Woolford, Michael Davis, Marcus Izzard, Chris Hunter, Chris Hinson, Rusty Harrelson, Adam Mills, Floyd Marsh and with another area track off on Saturday you can expect to see a few new drivers show up.

Lancaster Speedway July 16th Race Postponed.

At 10:30 this morning, Lancaster Speedway management consulted with all parties involved in the running of the Buddy Crook Memorial and have made the decision to postpone the race tonight. Doug McManus, members of the track prep crew and others were on site assessing the situation and found the conditions of the racing surface far too wet to prepare. The forecast continues to show significant chances of rain throughout the day and into the night and after heavy rains overnight, the track conditions would be very difficult to overcome at this point. Lancaster Speedway Racing July 2nd.

Lancaster Speedway hosts "FUEL Up" for Independence Day
"Firecracker 100 Shootout" Saturday July 2nd. With Independence Day and the appreciation of freedom on the minds of many drivers and fans alike, the FUEL Racing Series is set to kick off holiday celebrations with racing at Lancaster Speedway Saturday July 2nd. In six events this season, Five different winners have graced FUEL's Victory Lane. It is the first trip in series
history for the CT525/Limited Late Model Tour to race at the biggest and fastest 1/2 mile dirt track in the South at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, SC). This presents a unique and challenging race experience for the FUEL series drivers. In addition to the FUEL series track competition, the program will also include four exciting support divisions (Super Stock, SECA Crate Sportsman, Renegade, and Extreme 4) plus a giant fireworks show to celebrate the patriotic holiday weekend.

Jonathan Edwards sits atop the FUEL championship standings heading into this weekend. Edwards, fresh off a runner-up finish at Modoc, has been extremely consistent to this point, but is still looking for that elusive series victory.

The recent momentum belongs to series newcomer and rookie Matt Long. After a disappointing start at Cherokee in the Season opener, the Concord, N.C. racer has two wins to his credit in the past four events, the second of which came this past weekend at Modoc Raceway. Robbie Emory, Donald Bradshear, Steve Banal, and Dan Breuer have been on the doorstep as well which has created the most competitive lineup in series history.

The merger of the CT525 and Steel Block Late Model engines has diversified the growing series and opened the door to increased competition to the delight of race fans across the Southeast. Several other drivers, including regional standouts Ross Bailes (FUEL season opener winner at Cherokee) and Jeff Smith may join the growing list of entries.

SECA Late Model Teams Gear Up For Battle At Lancaster

Often referred to by many as "The Super Speedway", Lancaster Speedway plays host to the 4th Heintz Performance SECA Bonus Race presented by JRi Shocks this Saturday April 23rd. So far this season, no driver has been able to pull off multiple Bonus Race victories. Steve Banal, Ross Bailes, and Trent Ivey have all found their way to victory lane in the first three events. Tackling the long straightaways and tight corners of ...the big 1/2 mile will be a challenging task for all drivers competing this weekend. This will mark the 2nd SECA Bonus Race at Lancaster, the first which came just one year ago in when Union, SC driver and defending SECA Late Model Champion Trent Ivey scored the only Lancaster win of his young career. "Those crafty veterans at Lancaster love the speed, they love the prestige, and they love winning at their home track. Drivers like Timbo Mangum, Brandy Baker, and those Knight boys all cut their teeth racing there. I am sure they could do it with their eyes closed. Hank Taylor also has multiple feature wins and there are no easy victories at Lancaster. You have earned it if you can conquer their home turf and end up in victory lane."
Stated SECA official Timmy Mcabee, "In the midst of it’s 62nd year of racing, the Doug McManus owned facility is always ready to go on any given Saturday night. The loyal fans of Lancaster are sure to turn out, as the 2016 season has gotten off to a very promising start. This is the only place that I can ever recall seeing an elevator used to carry coolers to the top of platforms where the fans watch the races from the infield. There is also "The Jungle" where the fans that sit in that section will quickly let you know who they are pulling for. It’s part of the passion.
